Meet the aritst

I'm a Bristol-based artist specialising in oil painting, with a fascination for colour, light and the natural world. My work is inspired by a lifelong love of water and aquatic environments, drawing on both observation and my personal experience.

As a keen scuba diver and snorkeller, I have spent a lot of time exploring underwater landscapes, where shifting light, movement and colour create constantly changing scenes. These experiences have had a lasting influence on my work; fish and aquatic subjects feature regularly throughout my paintings. Water provides endless opportunities to explore depth, reflection and atmosphere, while colour allows me to create a more expressive response to what I see.

Alongside aquatic subjects, I'm interested in finding beauty in everyday moments and familiar objects. Whether painting a shoal of fish, a still life or a coastal scene, my focus remains the same: capturing the energy, light and colour that make a moment memorable.

Working primarily in oils, I continue to develop a body of work that celebrates colour, movement and the changing qualities of light.
